Back in the top-five!
We have had a very strong period now with five wins in the last six league matches. That has lifted us from a place above top-ten to being in fourth place. That is really strong - and it makes us all optimistic ahead of the last match of 2007 - away against Sparta.
Hopefully the statistic will be even better after the match against Sparta.
We are a better team, and should travel from Rotterdam with all three
points. But it is very important for us not taking anything for granted. We
have to stay focused and give 100 percent, because it is very important for
us to stay in the top. We have a goal of reaching Europe again and that goal is indeed within reach.
I have been out due to a leg-injury for the last matches, and I am out for
Saturdays match against Sparta. But I am very optimistic about being back on the pitch when we play Excelsior on January 12.
It has been a nice Christmas so far. Just before the holidays I was voted
"Groninger van het Jaar". That was very surprising, and I am very thankful.
We live in a city with great passion for football, and maybe that is why a
footballer got the prize this year.
